Singing in the Plaza

We went to the Plaza with Ricardo today and took the guitar to jam to some tunes.  We asked if it was unusual to see people playing guitar there and he said it was unusual to see Peruvians but not as unusual to see gringos playing haha  I guess we just can't help it.  The plaza contains the largest amount of grass in all of Cajamarca (that might only be a small exaggeration) and you aren't even allowed to walk on it!  There are people all over that will blow whistles if you do.  Anyone else thinking of Princess Diaries?!

While we were sitting on the sidewalk, two men stood across the sidewalk and started taking pictures or videos of us.  We aren't stupid.  We know what you're doing!  So when we'd look at them they'd point the camera to the side of us, acting like they were taking a picture of something to the side of us.  Whatever.  We know we're pretty!  Well, Noelle decided to give them a taste of their own medicine and whipped out our camera and took a picture of them.  I almost died.

They took this as an invitation to come talk to us and introduce themselves.  Please notice from the pictures that they are not our age.  These are middle aged men.  And they wanted us, bad.  They asked if we had boyfriends and we told them Brittany was married and Noelle and I were in love and to be married soon.  Thankfully we also had Ricardo to talk to them in Spanish!  He even did a little missionary work and told them where church meets on Sunday.  The men wanted pictures with us and Noelle took one but I told him no.  I'm not sure how he felt about that.  They seemed like nice men, but were a little (okay, a LOT) on the creeper side.  Finally, we just stood up and said we had to go...toodles!!

Noelle's shot of the men...one turned away in shame.

And then he wanted one with her.

And this is how Brittany was feeling...
