Miguel's Birthday Surprise

We got to throw Miguel his very first surprise birthday party!!  Liz took him out to a movie in Cajamarca so we had the house to ourselves for a couple of hours to decorate.  Where did we get decorations on a budget?  El Bichito, of course!!  Please don’t judge us for using a few things that may have been bought for children for a 25 year olds party.  Most of the stuff was stuff we brought so we’ll just pretend we brought it for the party…  We hung up some streamers, blew up a bag of balloons, made a big birthday banner and set out plenty of food.

This cheese with these crackers= MORE DELICIOUS THAN YOU CAN IMAGINE

Las tres gringas= Abigail, Noelle, Breet

We went bilingual with the birthday banner...

Guests started arriving around 7:00 and surprisingly, everyone was here by the time Miguel arrived!  Sadly, we didn’t flip the lights on when he walked in so you can’t see his surprised face in the video but we all know it was there.  We played true-blue-through-and-through-American-birthday-party-games even though the majority of those in attendance were Peruvian.

We playing the game where you have a tower of flour and have to cut off slices and the person who knocks down the “50 centimo” piece in the center has to fish it out with their nose.

A balloon pop.  This was just for the older boys and as soon as they heard the last one with a balloon wins they started popping…they didn’t even wait for “go”!!

A "how-well-does-Liz-know-Miguel" game....we asked Liz questions about Miguel ahead of time and then at the party we asked Miguel the same questions.  Every time he had an answer different from hers, he had to put a large grape in his mouth.  He was looking a little chipmunky by the end.

An M&M game... can I just say how surprised I was by the amount of cheating during this game?!

And it wouldn't be a complete party without a spanking line!
Oh, and of course cake is always a nice thing to have :)

Happy Cumpleanos, Miguel!!!!!!!!!!!!
