Doggies Everywhere

What's the best way to phrase this?  There are dogs EVERYWHERE.  I swear, a new dog has come to the center every day since we've been here.  Most of the time they leave us alone but they find it quite exciting when we run by them on our morning runs.  For someone who's scared of running in her Ohio neighborhood filled with dogs who have definite owners, had their shots and have an invisible fence it's quite an experience.  Yesterday we ran by (no exaggeration) 20 or more dogs in a 15 minute period (ran RIGHT by them, many more that were off the path a few yards).  It's not hard to have the motivation to do some sprints in the middle of our run ;)

When we are running from a dog we have to watch where we're stepping as there is dog poo everywhere.  And since a lot of these dogs don't have owners, there's no one to pick up after them.  Running after a rainstorm is disgusting.  You can imagine what the sidewalks look like without me describing them to you.

During the day, the dogs are pretty mellow and just lay around the town (minus when we run by them) but they go crazy at night.  One will start barking and then there'll be 10 barking as loud as they can!  It's 10:00 at night, what can possibly be going on?!

Oh, and they're d.i.r.t.y.

To top all of this off, one of my blankets is covered in dogs and it cracks me up.  The blanket was at the center when we got here and at first there was no way I'd use a random blanket from this place...but the chilly nights have left me no choice.

Four dogs PLUS three cows...the street outside our house.

Dog blanket and mismatched bedding.
